Development Director Goals and Responsibilities

 Drive the process of creating an annual Development and Communications plan in collaboration with the Executive Director and Communications Manager.

 Coordinate the efforts of the Development Program, including Donor Research, Donor Engagement, Donor Stewardship, Donor Retention, Events, Corporate Engagement, and Grants.  Oversee Communications Manager to write grants, process/record/recognize donations, develop social media strategy, and direct mail strategy, electronic mail strategy, and graphic design activities.

 Plan our annual luncheon for the first Thursday in September of each year, with a goal of 30 new tables.  Plan at least one other signature event in the spring each year and Luncheon in the fall.

 Go to coffee with two people each week—people who have either donated to our agency, or potential donors to our agency.

 Meet with at least two major local companies/businesses each month to encourage volunteerism or sponsorship support for our agency.

 Create monthly reports for Executive Director and Board of Directors.  Provide a monthly analysis of top donors or donors with the most potential to the Executive Director, and advise which donors the Executive Director should spend time meeting with and talking to.  Attend AFP training events.

 Create fun ways to honor donors and volunteers.

 Increase donor participation, donor retention, event revenue, monthly donors, and other goals as set forth by the Executive Director.

 Support the Board Fundraising Committee.
