Development and Communications Coordinator

Rebuilding Together South Sound is the leading community revitalization partner focused on addressingsubstandard, unsafe, and unhealthy housing conditions. As part of the national Rebuilding Togethernetwork, our 145 affiliate repair 10,000 homes annually with the help of nearly 100,000 volunteers. We leverage resources and partnerships to offer home repair and modification services to low-incomehomeowners and nonprofit facilities at no cost to them. Our coordinated approach between residents,volunteers, municipalities, nonprofits, businesses, foundations, and other partner organizations builds andsustains safe, healthy, and thriving communities. More than housing repair, we improve health outcomes,stabilize housing and homeownership, and reduce the need for new affordable housing. We are seeking a dedicated and exceptionally organized Development & Communications Coordinator(DCC) to join us as an integral member of our small team. This is a full time, salaried position reporting tothe Executive Director (ED), and the DCC’s primary responsibility is to manage development andcommunications for Rebuilding Together South Sound. The description below is not meant to be anexhaustive account of the work of the DCC, but a general description to include additional assigned duties.

Primary Responsibilities:

Grants and Events
• Tracking grant and reporting deadlines
• On-time submission of grants and reports with drafts submitted to ED for approval at least 2 days in advance, preferably 1 week in advance
• Managing Annual Appeal process
• Supporting events created by the organization
• Increasing responsibility in other areas of fundraising, such as sponsor engagement and stewardship,individual donor engagement and stewardship and volunteer engagement

• Producing the Annual Report to be published in January of each year
• Maintenance of Facebook account, including a plan for daily posts
• Increasing responsibilities with additional communication tools

Essential Job Functions - Ability to:
• Write and speak clearly and well in communication with supporters, clients and staff
• Track grant due dates, report due dates and any other communications that need to happen in serviceto our funders
• Meet with potential funders and attend trainings and other networking events as necessary

Annual Salary: $40,000

Anticipated Hire Date: September 5, 2017

• 2 weeks Personal Time Off
• 1week holiday between December 24 and January 1 of each year
• 8 additional recognized holidays
• Health insurance coverage or premium reimbursement
